So, needless to say, I keep us busy around here.
First off, was the bathroom. We weren't quite sure what to do and it started off as a bit of a fiasco. We wanted to match some colors of the shower curtain, but the samples kept turning out awful! We decided on a last minute color and after some getting used to it, I love! It is a deep purple which actually compliments the shower curtain better than any color match would have...

I tried to get a good picture of it, but it's just a weird room/angle to get a good picture. |
Next up on the list was the room I was most excited for: our reading room.
I love to read and so having a reading room is just something wonderful! I also have a husband in school, who loves to draw. So we incorporated a creative space for him and a cozy nook for me. We started with the idea of doing a little bit of a mix of modern and antique. We fell in love with a to-die-for mustard yellow arm chair and a fabulous red side table. The ideal pops of color for the oh-so-perfect shade of blue we painted the accent wall.
We added shades of grey and some pattern with the drapes and rug which added the right amount of "coolness" to the room. On the other side of the room, Cam found the perfect drawing desk (don't you LOVE the legs?) and we added a design to display Cam's works-in-progress and talent (can I tell you how amazing it is to watch Cameron create something out of nothing? he has a true talent and I love watching him create).
This room has become my favorite place to slip away to and read. It is so cozy and creates the perfect place for Cam to study and me to read while we can enjoy being together.
My house has really become our home and where my heart is.

Looks good! Keep up the good work.
Yes, well done indeed! It all turned out darling! And I think every house should have a little reading nook.
And that bathroom color is definitely plum. It is perfect! I loathe picking paint colors and you were spot-on with all the colors you've done. Bravo!
AMAZING Jill!! You have such great taste.
Looks good. Is it so sad that being your sister I don;t get my sorry butt off the couch and come see your house for myself. I am sorry I am lazy.
Your house looks great.
