Craftiness

There is a long running joke in my family that once you can't be creative until after you have had sex. Maybe a little too much information, but it seems that once we girls get married, we just get on a creative kick. So I guess it is my turn now.

It all started with my ward's Freaky Friday (a variation of Super Saturday) and I created these two gems. I am absolutely in love with the Trick-or-Treat block - even though they were a huge pain - but they turned out awesome. I guess I stole this creativity from my ward, but I still love.

Next up on my creative streak was craft day with the Clarks. We all wanted to try our hand at crafting but didn't want to get too in over our heads, so after heading to a few craft stores, we picked up some easy crafts. Mine were a wooden skull and sign and a paper mache skull. We set out and crafted away, and I have to admit I kinda was impressed with how these turned out as well.

With more and more things to decorate my home, I kinda got the bug to add even more. I found some adorable twig pumpkins on clearance at Target, as well as a box of fall vase fillers (also on clearance). So spice them up and add to it I bought a pine cone and berry garland at Walmart (for mere dollars) and found a delightful mustard yellow leaf bowl at TJMaxx. A few hours later, I had added some color to my brown pumpkins and filled my leaf bowl with awesome texture.

Falling in love with decorating my house is not just an every day thing, but a very seasonal thing. Brooke came over the other night and asked me if I was going to put my my Christmas tree next week. And if you will remember, I was so excited about all of my new Christmas decor last year, that I put it all up just weeks into November. I will probably hold off until after Thanksgiving this year, but luckily I have Thanksgiving decor to keep me occupied.
