Handprint on my Heart

Do you know when you find those friends that are just gems? You go through the good, the bad, and the ugly with them and you still manage to end up on the side of friends instead of enemies. I am more than lucky to have a few of these amazing friends in my life.

One such friend is my dear friend Shannon - we have weathered some storms together. Luckily, we have always been able to land on our feet and still be friends - and good friends.

Shannon came into my life at just the perfect moment - as I like to say it was fate. I was new in a singles ward, didn't know a soul, dreading the whole prospect of a new ward and not wanting to really get involved, and attending my first FHE just to give it a try. Then it happened, up walked Shannon to introduce herself and immediately it made me feel better about this new experience. We randomly decided to drive to the next location together and the rest was history. We spent the whole evening talking and getting to know each other and she - being the amazingly kind person she is - eased me into this ward and a whole year of amazing experiences.

I'll love her forever and cherish the bond we created during that time.

I was lucky enough to have her over the other night to teach me the true Italian way of making Pasta Carbonara (found here). The night was a huge success - loved the cooking, loved the food, loved the company - we even capped the night off with a little Jane Austen. (who doesn't love some of that every now and then?)

I always love the time I get to spend with Shannon. She is a dear friend and one of those people who changed my life forever - in the best way possible.

I was even lucky enough to get to see her again last night for some Bollywood -
my introduction to that alone could be the capstone of our friendship.

Yay!!! We love Shannon. We need to see her more! I was sad to miss the Italian night. I can only imagine how YUMMY it must have been.

When are you doing it again?

Oh wow. This post is unbelievably kind and the perfect way to end a long weekend. THANK YOU. Thank you for thinking so well of me and for being such an outstanding friend yourself. And for remembering the line, "This is so embarrassing!" Too funny!

I say we go down to Jamie's for an Italian (and/or Bollywood) night because I would LOVE to see her (and pretty much any of your family). It has been far too long.

You are one of the greatest friends I have ever had and i do not say that lightly. Thank you for continuing to be so dear to me.
LOVE YOU!
