Nifty Thrifty

For the same price that ONE of us could go to a movie ($9.50 - after the lame-o $1.00 "convenience fee") we were able to treat ourselves to an awesome movie night in.

We started out with movie rentals - a new release and a classic for $3.00 thanks to our new membership and "rent 1 get 1 Mondays" at Top Hat Video.
Next up: treats. No movie is complete without the works: popcorn, something sweet/sour, and some chocolate = $4.50
Since we are self proclaimed Diet Coke addicts it's no secret that these had to be included = $1.98
Grand Total = $ 9.48 (plus whatever tax I can't think of at the moment)

Pretty good huh?
I also think we upgraded our value by getting to enjoy the movie in our pj's, wrapped up in a blanket, cuddling on the chaise section of our couch.

So I'll enjoy our thrifty night and take that $9.50 we didn't spend to get the other half of us into the movie (not to mention what we would have spent getting equal amounts of treats) and get a whole second date night.

PS: Yes, we did in fact watch "Death Becomes Her." This was a 90's classic of my childhood and I just had to walk down memory lane. It didn't disappoint as much as I had expected after 10 years, surprisingly.

Love that it was movie night. Sorry you didn't have three boys climbing all over you(always happens when I try to watch a movie)

You can save even more at Top Hat (love that place) if you go during the last hour of business - 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 10:00 to 11:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; all rentals (except for video games) are only 60 cents each. It's an unadvertised special but a good one.

I'm with Heidi. Can't imagine watching a movie in silence.

Sounds like a great night.

And why on earth did you pick Death Becomes Her of all movies. That is hilarious that that was your movie of choice. It actually makes me want to go watch it now.
