Our First Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas season - start to finish. Being our first Christmas together (or even knowing each other) it was full of firsts on all accounts. It was so fun to decorate the house together, start new traditions, spend time with both sides of the family and best of all: wake up and spend Christmas morning together.

This was my first Christmas not sleeping at my parents and that was a bit strange for me. Everything I knew as "Christmas Morning" changed, but for the good.

Like always, sleep was hard to come by because I was so excited. Our presents were all wrapped and under the tree for basically all of December, but it was still fun to think of walking out and getting to open them (although for some reason, when we walked out there weren't magically more presents, weird).

We weren't very fun with our presents this year because we both picked out our own. So the surprise and anticipation for that was lacking, but still fun because we got exactly what you wanted.

Can't you tell how excited Cam is?

I was thrilled to get my gift as well. It is something I have wanted for a long time and it was so excited to get it.

That was about the extent of our Christmas morning together. We had a few other DVD's and Black Friday bargains we had wrapped under the tree. I also did a surprise stocking for Cam, which was so fun because he wasn't expecting it.

Like I said, the rest of our Christmas was wonderful. From Disneyland to coming home and spending just about everyday with both families, it was just how Christmas should be.

We got to enjoy everything from food to bowling to getting to remember the true meaning of Christmas.

I am so blessed to have two amazing families to spend my time with. I am so grateful for the relationships I have with my own family as well as my in-laws and I couldn't ask for a better way to spend my holidays than with those I love.

Most of all, I love Cameron. Sharing the holidays with the love of my life far exceeded any expectation I could have set. I love that I have many more memories to make with this boy and maybe some day they will include a slew of little one's. But for now, I'm loving getting him all to myself.
