Today started out as a great (albeit early) day, had it's ups and downs, and finished out strong.
We were up and ready for College Game Day at the U by 5:15 AM. Excitement has been racing through me this whole week for this big day. I'm talking about the #5 team vs the #3 team, that's something to be excited for. The morning was awesome filled with school/team spirit, funny signs, good laughs, mass amounts of people, and good fun. I'm so proud to be a Utah Alumni and a true Ute Fan.
As sad and devastating as the game was, we didn't deserve to win with the way we played. It was just sad. Nonetheless, I still love my Utes. I'll forever be a Utah fan through the ups and downs, the good and the bad - A Utah Man am I!
So the day started out great and exciting, had it's low point, but went straight uphill from there!
We got to attend the wonderful baptism of James. It was so sweet to see him so happy and excited about this special day. This was the first of my nieces and nephews to get baptized and it was just such a neat experience to be a part of. I just have a soft spot in my heart for James anyways- he is the smart, caring, kind, spiritual, little boy that anyone can't help but love - and it just made for a wonderful evening. I'm so proud of the little guy.
Our night took a surprising (yet exciting) turn as we stopped to get drinks on our way home. The cashier (one who we see quite frequently) asked why we were so dressed up. We explained that we were just coming home from our nephews baptism. His interest seemed to peak as he asked for which church and then proceeded to explain that he has been very interest in the church and was wondering if we could help him get in contact with some missionaries. It was a moment I have never quite experienced before and I can see how missionaries fall in love with their work. The moment felt even more tender just coming off the wonderful experience with James.
Our friend gave us his name and number and even the best time to call him. We walked out to the car, a little surprised, but so excited about the opportunity that presented itself. We called the local missionaries, passed on the contact information, and I am still beaming about how good it feels to possibly share the Gospel. I constantly take for granted the amazing blessing of the Gospel in my own life, that I am grateful for the reminder of the wonderful Gospel and my testimony.
So, from our early start, a roller-coaster of a day for a Ute fan, family time, and two amazing spiritual experiences, I am so glad I had a jump start on the day.

Those pictures of you guys this morning are darling! It looked like so much fun.
It was fun to see you tonight. It's been too long. Why do we never see each other anymore? Boo.
And that story about your friend at the gas station is so neat. There is nothing like sharing the gospel with others. Nice work!
I've got just two words: Go Frogs! =)
Love those pictures of all of you. You all look fantastic in red and black.
And how awesome is your experience. I have never had anything like that happen.
It was a roller coaster day for you two. It looks and sounded like game day was lot of fun. Thanks for coming out and watching the game (even though it was so sad) and for ALL your help with the food. I loved that you were able to help me organize (something, among other things I am lacking these days) and that you guys came back and got things going. You were so nice to bring food as well.
Kudos on the missionary opportunity.
So glad we could read about your
SATURDAY events---so glad you're back to blogging and sharing!!!!
