My house came will all of its appliances. Nice for a first time home owner, right? Little did I know exactly what I was in for with a non-drying dryer and a freezer that was more like a water fountain. Luckily, I have replaced the non-drying dryer (after countless 3-cycle loads) and have now decided after a year, I should maybe look into fixing my leaky freezer.
I called Sear’s repair, scheduled an appointment for my day off, patiently waited through the 5 hour “window” of time they give you, and finally got a repair man to my house. 5 minutes (literally) and $70 later, all I had was the advice to unplug my freezer and let the drain wash out and BAM-O it should be fixed. Sounded simple enough (and a lot cheaper than the $200 alternative the repair man gave me).
Or so I thought.
It all started last night. After a few days of eating our way through our fridge to clean out what we could, it was time to unplug it. I neatly packed everything into the two coolers we were able to borrower (making sure to get dry ice for the freezer food, packing the other with ice, and thinking out my plan of attack of how to keep it cold for 24 hours), pulled out the fridge and let it start thawing. With an empty fridge, pulled away from the wall, I decided to clean. The floor was gross (especially after leaking water had mixed with all that icky-ness) and the shelves could use a good cleaning. I tackled the floor and behind the fridge and decided to leave the rest for today.
I decided to wake up early to get things going this morning, and that is where it all went wrong.
-Remember that run to Maverick I was going to make to get more ice? Well, I checked the coolers and they seemed to have plenty of ice, so I crawled back in bed.
-Remember that shower I was going to take? Well I checked my hair and figured I could make it work, so I crawled back in bed.
-Remember how I was going to clean out the shelves of the fridge? I figured I would have time tonight before putting it all back together, so I crawled back in bed.
-Remember how it was nearing 7:30 and I thought, why don’t I clean the shelves this morning so they will be dry by tonight? So I crawled out of bed, disassembled the whole fridge, and started cleaning.
-Remember how I can be kinda dumb sometimes? Well at one point I poured a whole drawer of water right over the edge of the sink so that it went all over my “drying” dishes and right down the side of the cabinet into the electrical socket. Yep, I wanted to crawl back in bed.
-Remember how I persevered and finally got it all clean? Ya, it was 8:15 and I was sweaty and gross, did I want to crawl in bed? Yes. But alas, I threw on some clothes (only to find that I had thrown every bra I own into the wash that morning) and headed out the door sans make-up and any patience I had for the day.
-Remember how I can be a crazy, emotion, psychotic, person at times? Ya, I wanted to crawl back in bed and wake up a happy, normal person.
But I was late for work and left the “waking up normal” part to tomorrow morning.
So I left my house like this this morning and have my plan of action in place to keep repacking the coolers today. Isn’t life fun?

Hope everything went ok and all is well with the fridge!!
Ugh! That looks miserable! Seriously. I HATE home repairs/problems. They are always time consuming and ALWAYS expensive. It everything put back together yet? At least you have a cute house to make you feel better about things.
SUPER GIRL--I guess everything isn't perfect all the time--I thought it was with you--you're still great in my eyes!!!
