Back to School, Back to Reality

Cam started school last week and it has been a bit of a jolt back to reality. I'll be honest it was a bit of a rough week with his schedule changing with earlier mornings and later nights. I guess I slipped into this lazy routine these first few months of nice mornings together and every evening together. It was kinda perfect for us newly weds who just can't get enough of each other.

Now Cam is up and off to work by 5:30 and spends a few nights a week up at school and the other's doing homework. Blah!

I am a bit surprised at the shock it has been to our system. I was so used to spending so much time with him, having that constant companion, and never having much by way of obligations. With this intrusion of school I am surprised at how "alone" or "lonely" I feel. It is like school as become the "other women" and I am left wanting.

Now don't get me wrong, Cam is doing nothing wrong and is just fulfilling his duties of being a breadwinner, but I am lacking the long term vision right now. I guess I'm just a little selfish and just want my husband to spend every moment with me.

To look on a bright side, it does have a bit of an upside and has given me some time to do my own things, which have been abandoned. Like:

  • my blog (which is nothing new when I am infatuated with someone)
  • some home projects (which I am SOOO excited about - more to come on that)
  • reading
  • time with friends and family
  • really appreciating the time I do get with Cameron.

Overall I just have to get used to this new schedule and make the best of it. I so appreciate Cam getting his school done and working to support our family (it is still weird to me I have my own family).

Hopefully I survive the semester! Wish me luck!

it's definitely lonely when they're gone! I still miss kurt when he goes to work and it's been 5 years LOL. Are you still working, too? I bet your house is darling by the way. Can't wait to hear about the home projects.

Yay! I'm sorry about the jolt to your system, but now you can hang out with me on your "lonely" nights.

And please don't hate me that I've been MIA in the decorating department. I just can't seem to get my groove going lately.

Expect my thoughts tomorrow.
