Friday Randomness

Today is not the day I thought I would be having today. I was supposed to be about 700 miles away from here and soaking up the California sun and cheering on Team Bonk... but alas - due to high blood pressure my doctor put the kabosh on that. Which means - I am staycationing by myself and making the best of it.

I had a genius idea of doing a random Friday post and had all these ideas flood into my head, but as I sat down to start working on it - pregnancy brain kicked in and I can't remember half of the things I was going to include - I'm sure they were super riveting that you will be so sad I forgot - but for now, you get what I can remember.

Today I am 36 weeks (yes, 36 weeks) - can you believe it? I always love getting to Friday's and being one more week closer, but now that it is really the end it's a little more ominous to get a week closer and not know just how many weeks left I have. I've been lucky to still be feeling great and have yet to start waddling - so I would say things are going pretty good.

When we went to the doctor on Monday he said that my blood pressure is right on the verge, and while he isn't alarmed yet, he did say if it goes any higher in the next 2-3 weeks he will likely just want to deliver the baby. This sent alarms going off in my head making me realize instead of the 5 weeks I was counting on having left - it is likely I won't make it to my due date. Hence, it was time to get serious about setting up the baby's room.

We finally got the crib up (yes, it is in our living room - Cam was finishing up school this past week and still needed his desk which is where the crib is going):

I finally got around to hanging up the wall collage in the baby's room (it is still a work in progress - and I can't believe how hard it is to throw random things on the wall), so here is part of the room (the red table still needs a permanent home and once we get the crib in there I'll figure out where everything fits):

With all of my alone time this weekend - I feel like I am single again (only knocked up, which is a little different). I rented a bunch of redbox movies, grabbed a pizza, and settled in for the night last night. I also spent a good amount of time at Target and reveled in the freedom of not feeling guilty about dragging Cameron around (he is always a good sport to follow me around - but I know deep down it isn't his favorite).

I also have all day today to finish up some other craft projects I have been putting off: another crib sheet, my bag, and a measuring ruler (a full size 6 foot ruler I am making). So that will be nice to get those things done - not to mention get the house cleaned and organized a bit more and then rest so my blood pressure doesn't keep rising.

So while I am doing all of this - the long awaited Ragnar is going on, and the purpose of the beard is finally fulfilled. My very own Forrest Gump:
 Pretty funny, right?

Man, I hate missing out on these things. I must say I was rather impressed that I made it out of the airport without crying, and even made it the rest of the day without crying - until Cam called to tell me good night. Why do I have to love this boy so much? It sure makes having him gone a heck of a lot harder...

I think that about wraps it up for my Friday.

Oh man. I'm dying over Cameron dressing as Forrest Gump. Too, too good.

If only I had a free weekend ahead of me to come spend some time with you! Love you lots!

Jill you look beautiful. I love that you are including your face more often in those belly shots. The room looks darling. I bet your babe is just going to love it :). I am totally with you on feeling sad that we can't be there with team bonk this time around. I may or may have not shed a tear or two after dropping Trent and Larry off at the airport yesterday. If you get lonely, you're always more than welcom to come up to see the hoard. Take care.

That nursery is adorable! I love everything about it!

I'm sad we haven't all gotten together in a long time! Let's fix that sometime soon!

Good luck with all the excitement coming up!
