My sister-in-law asked me for me for some baby pictures, which caused me to look through what little baby things I actually have (I think 99.9% of my baby pictures are on archaic slides in my parents basement).
But what I did find was quite fun - especially with my baby just weeks away from making it's debut.
I found this picture - 4 generations of women on my mom's side.
(Maga, Grandma Winnie, my mom and me).
Grandma Winnie was my grandpa's step-mom, but my mom's dearest kindred spirit growing up - which makes this picture all that more special to me. It's probably one of the few I have with her in it - although I do have many wonderful memories of visiting her house across the creek from Maga's - man was I lucky to have my extended family all adjacent to each other, such good memories.
Anyways, back to the baby facts.
In looking through the random paperwork my mom kept I stumbled upon these facts:
*I was born May 1, 1986 at 9:20 PM.
*I was 8 lbs 4 oz and 20 inches long.
*My parents paid a whopping $192 to the hospital.
*My blood type is O Positive.
*My birth was announced in the newspaper - wouldn't that be fun if that was still the norm?
*I have the card on the flowers from my dad to me and my mom, as well as a card signed by all my older (although very young) siblings (so cute to see their little names written out by them).
*I even have my little "Baby Teri Jensen" arm/leg band.
Growing up I always loved to get "my box" down from the closet (my mom was genius with having just a box for each of us kids that she could easily slip our memorabilia in) and go through all the little things from long ago - it was like seeing a life I never knew I lived.
Now here I am, my own baby on the way and thinking "How in the world did I get here?" - ok, I know how that happened, but I'm not sure when I got to the point that I was old enough to be having a baby. I still feel like the just-out-of-high-school-girl with everything ahead of me, but I guess I should come to terms that that was 8 long years ago, and I have packed a lot of life into those years.
I can't wait for this little baby to make us a little family. I need to remember to keep all these little things and someday when my baby is grown up (I think that already makes me tear up) I can share all the excitement and joy that I felt right now before it all begins.
And just for fun - in case you wanted to know what Cam looked like as a baby - this little bundle of joy:
(I should work on getting his stats... maybe he will counter my larger birth weight)

Jill this is such a good post. How fun to look back on your own baby pictures right before you have your own. I am so excited for you and Cameron. Enjoy these last few weeks and be sure to take a lot of pictures or home videos at this time in your life. Looking back is always so worth it.
