You might be aware of the TV Show "Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives" and the host Guy has made his way to Utah quite a few times. We decided since we love food, we love trying new places, and there just happens to be some nationally acclaimed places near by, we would make our way to all the famed local food joints.

After visiting
Ruth's Diner a week prior (which was already a favorite of mine), we hit up
Pat's BBQ last weekend. It claimed to have some Southern style BBQ and be the best around. We found the little hole in the wall and were excited for our adventure.

I am a HUGE fan of pulled pork sandwiches, so I've had a few in my day, and decided to get that. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't anything I would have written to a show about as being some of Salt Lake's best eateries.
We did enjoy trying a new place and the Styrofoam plate, paper cups, and roll of paper towel on the table made for a cozy atmosphere. I sadly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Hopefully we enjoy the next place on our list and we'll let you know what we think.
(PS - my new goal is a MUCH better blog, so stay tuned and hopefully it will be better updated)

ha we had a friend recommend Pat's to us and he said it was the closest thing to Texas BBQ that he could find in Utah.
we met our friends there and they loved it.
we, however fought to finish our meals.. the best part about it was the rice and beans and the cornbread... but even that wasn't all that great.
Keep us posted on good eateries.
Your blogs are great--keep them coming!!!
All I know is that after you mentioned Ruth's Diner I can't stop thinking about their huge bread....
