To Be or Not To Be...

So, I am having the ever difficult debate of what exactly to change my name to after I'm married. I've decided to ask for your opinions and see what you think I should do.

Should I go with plain Jane:

Jill Clark

Or stick with my roots and be:

Jill Jensen Clark

I know it probably isn't a huge deal and I would only really deal with "Jensen" when middle names are required or come up (which is unknown territory for me).

What do you think?

I'm sentimental, so I'm all about keeping your maiden name as your middle name. Especially if you don't have a middle name. Plus I think Jill Jensen Clark flows really well. Much better than Anne Burton Karren.

Hi friend. I love the simplicity of Jill Clark, which is how you can introduce yourself and sign your checks, etc, etc... from here on out (well, from June 4th on out), but I agree with Annie - keep the middle name. It's a beautiful way to pay respect to your upbringing - to the family who raised you and how you got to the place that allowed you to meet Cameron. That's my opinion at least! Both great names though.

I say keep the Jensen for the middle name reason. Plus it makes your name a little longer and has a nice ring :) Also in agreement using it only as a middle name..

Keep Jensen for sure. I love having my maiden name as my middle name especially since I, like you, didn't have a middle name before.

Im with everyone else on this one. I think you should keep Jensen in there. I definately want to keep my maiden name when I get married. It will be nice to replace the middle name that I so hate, and to keep a part of my roots in my name!

I was so thrilled to become Mrs. Jones and to ditch my very hard maiden name that I went with Heather Joy Jones. But I do wish I kept my maiden name sometimes. I think I might even go back and add it. You never really use it, but I just have sentimental attachment to it.

Totally keep your maiden name in your new name. I don't have a middle name so i would have kept my maiden name as my middle name except I would have been... Evamarie Woolstenhulme Pearson. It was too long so I didn't keep it... but sometimes I regret it.

It's a good idea to keep your maiden name for genealogy---did you know Morris is his mother's maiden name?

I like Jill Clark. We will always be Jensens. It is engrained within us. Keep it simple!!!
