...I’m Going There Someday

For year's I sang the primary song "I love to see the temple" and always knew that I would be going there someday, I just didn't know that that someday would be tomorrow.

Life is funny how it springs big life changes on you (and by springing on you I mean planning them for months and not really expecting that day to so rapidly approach), but tomorrow one of those life changes is happening. I never knew what to expect or how I would feel and now on the eve of this event, I'm finding myself a jumble of different emotions. I'm filled with anticipation for the awe and wonder the temple has always had and finally being able to experience the sacred covenants. I am filled with excitement to be taking one step farther in my testimony as well as one step closer to getting things done for the wedding. If I'm going to be completely honest, anxiety is beginning to set in a bit as well. I've prepared and waited my whole life for this and I still don't think I am fully prepared.

I feel very lucky that of all the days I get to go through the temple, I am going through on my birthday. As most of you know, my birthday is always a day of celebration, but I am grateful that this year it takes on a whole new meaning.

(On a side note, as my bishop was filling out my temple recommend, I realized that on the church records I have my birthday of May 1st, my confirmation date of June 4th and will have my endowment date on May 1st and my Sealing date as June 4th. Strange how that works out, huh?)

I guess turning 24 (which in and of itself seems like growing up to me) as well as going through the temple (and all that that entails) will make me a bona fide adult. How did this happen?
