With every passing day and more and more wedding plans I just can't believe that I am actually getting married! It is so exciting and a bit surreal. It is weird how this event is upon me and it doesn't feel at all like I expected it to. As exciting and wonderful as it is, I didn't expect the feeling of normalcy or how natural the whole thing is. I think it is a huge blessing to just know that this is the next step I need to take in my life and how amazing it is that I get to take this step with my best friend. I couldn't have asked for anyone better than Cameron. I always knew I would love who I married, but I didn't realize how much we would compliment each other and that he would be exactly what I need. He has so many traits and qualities that I always had on my Young Women's list of "Qualities you want in a Husband," but I don't think I ever quite expected to find them all in one person. I am one lucky girl.
For those of you who may be curious I'll outline a bit of what we have planned for the wedding:
- 2:00 - Sealing in the Draper Temple (I will officially be Mrs. Clark for ETERNITY! Awesome)
- 6:30 - Small Garden dinner in Maga and Papa's beautiful backyard (think all white, candlelit, canopy of lights over the lawn/tables, romantic, intimate, dusk dinner - I think I'm going to love it!)
- 8:30 (or so) escape to start the rest of our lives and our amazing honeymoon (we are escaping to the beautiful island of Maui for 8 days and then taking a 7 night Mexican detour from LA on our way home - I think delaying reality for as long as possible was achieved)
I'm trying to think what else we have planned that anyone would be interested it. It seems that our whole wedding is taking on a "non-traditional" theme and we just want everything to be simple and elegant and shared with our loved one's.
Things really have not been too stressful so far, I have the photographer, videographer, and caterer all booked. My dress is picked out, ordered, paid for, and on it's way. We've scheduled the temple, reserved the back yard (and sadly the church in case of inclement weather - which I would like to commission you all to start sending up your prayers that it doesn't rain) registered (mostly, still needs to be refined), found a place to live (that's the easy part), booked the honeymoon, and picked out our announcements (which we are designing ourselves and they are turning out better than I could have hoped). I would say we are off to a pretty good start. I am still working on shoes to wear, centerpieces for the tables, losing weight (blah), cupcakes (no cake for us), and all the other details of the day.
I think that about covers it for now, I'll try to keep you posted of any updates...

Sounds so very pretty and wonderful. I'm with Jamie, worst honeymoon ever--too bad you couldn't do any better than Hawaii and Mexico.
YAY! Love all the plans. Love your colors, your dress, your honeymoon, everything! So excited for you guys. And just a wee bit jealous of your honeymoon.
So glad everything is going smoothly! Very excited for you both! Time will fly..
I am so happy for you Jill. You can just feel your happiness in your post. You are smart to make it simple (yea right-but as simple as you can for a wedding) so you can focus on the marriage. Isn't that what we celebrate anyway? Good luck and I love hearing all the details. It brings back some great memories. Enjoy!!
