Busy Bee

Having a {wonderful} four day weekend gave me oodles of time to get some home projects done that I have been meaning to get done. The time and motivation were plentiful and I got way more done than anticipated.

We'll start with Thursday night when my bathroom flooded (yes flooded, my house and water, I know) due to the float in the toilet not stopping the water. I headed to my local Home Depot to find out I had to replace the whole thing. Luckily the piece was about $6.50 and I took on the challenge of replacing it myself. Only an hour, and lots of water, later the task was complete. I now have a fully functional toilet. While at the Home Depot I decided to take on some additional projects. I picked up some wood, had it cut according to my needs, and set to work on my headboard. A project I have been meaning to do for 6 months now. This only took me about an hour and turned out perfectly. The best part? Total cost = $23.00.
My house turned into a little crafting workshop and was a mess the whole weekend. From the headboard to my wall collage of fabric covered squares, there was fabric and wood everywhere. My collage was a continual project all weekend from trips to Home Depot and the critical Ikea venture.
The wall came together better than expected and I now have something on my walls! I am in love with it and couldn't have planned for it to go better.
The other small thing I picked up on my trip to Ikea: The Mirror of my Dreams! I was so excited the whole way out, the whole way through the store, and the whole drive home to finally put this beauty in its rightful place. LOVE IT!
Some other stuff I picked up at my various errands: (I think I may have a bit of an addiction to home decor)I think the ultimate highlight of my weekend was getting to spend hours on end with this guy (he was even nice enough to hang around while I crafted it up around him):

I am tempted to be sad as this weekend comes to an end, but it was just too wonderful to have any negative feelings about it.

Well, Well, Well Miss Holly Homemaker. I thought it took a special little activity that was to arouse the creative juices.
I am very impressed. Your stuff looks amazing. Especially the float value. I have never seen a finer one.

Thank you for coming over today. It was good to see you.

Can you come decorate my house or at least give me some tips? Did you use wood to cover your wall art pieces like the headboard?

Geez, Jill. Why don't you do something with yourself? Honestly.
