Best Weekend of My Life

I kind of re-capped my weekend in my previous post, but I just had to share the pictures. They are just too fun.

Friday: My hot date with Ashlee filled with Squatters, lights, bathrooms, Hatch's, bowling and so much more...
Unfortunately undocumented was our Saturday night events. Kim had a get together since she was in town with all of her friends here and the one's in town from California. It was so fun to get to know them and the games that ensued with them were even better: ultimate spoons, leg wars, arm wresting, the hand game, Mad Gab, etc. It was a blast, all the way up to 5 in the morning. I love nights like that!

Sunday we decided to go to the lights again with Kim and her California friends. It was so fun to meet up with our new friends and they are just adorable.
Her friends didn't stay for long, so we enjoyed the lights our own way...
Could I have better friends? I think not, I just love them!
Monday night was a great way to start out the week, especially the week of Christmas. We attended the Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long at the Energy Solutions Arena, and it was so much fun! I love Christmas music, so to be in a huge arena singing a long with the orchestra was the perfect way to feel the Christmas Spirit. There were even special appearances by Jon Schmidt (the highlight for me), Santa, and the Jazz Bear.
Our intermission activity was dinner at Chili's. We all know how much I love Chili's and it was made even better by my good company. We had some great conversations (which were enjoyed by the table next to us, most awkward eavesdroppers ever).
Next on our agenda was a Christmas Sweater Party. It was a random invite we got and went not knowing anyone. We watched as groups of people headed to the party, none of which were wearing Christmas sweaters. We were a little disheartened and nervous to don our own Christmas sweaters into the party. But after a little pep talk to ourselves, we upped our confidence and headed in. We were in the minority in our sweaters, but I was so proud of us for being brave enough to just wear them.
It wasn't the most "Mormon" of parties (as we classified it) so we didn't stick around for long. To prolong our evening and fully enjoy our get-up's, we had an impromptu photo shoot just outside the party. We spent a good 30 minutes loving our life, taking pictures, and laughing so hard. You can imagine the effort and attempts to get these gems:
We luckily convinced a nice passerby to take our picture. He was even one of those that was willing to take more than one picture. We took advantage of that and loved it, he even had the patience to get our group jumping picture. Loved him.
I am not sure why I had so much going on this weekend, but it was very much needed. I have just been stuck in a rut for the past couple weeks and this definitely helped break that up. I couldn't ask for better friends and was so happy I got to spend so much time with them.

Oh Jill, I thought the highlight would have been the Jazz Bear. Love that you all had ugly sweaters and no one else did. Ugly sweaters or not, you all look cute though!

Amy, I think you are the only one who reads my blog anymore. :(

Um...I don't see any mention of the Johnson Progressive Dinner on this post of "Best Weekend Ever"! What the heck???

Looks like a fun weekend anyway!

Excuse me. I read your blog all the time. But because of all the "malicious content" I don't always have a chance to comment. Maybe you should clean up your act a little.

Love all the good times and the fab pics to document. And wow, those sweatshirts are something else. Glad you've had some much needed good times. Love Ashlee for that.

And yeah, how the heck did I not make an appearance in your best weekend when we were together on Sunday. It hurts.

Glad you had a good week-end with frinds and family--didn't see you long enough at the progressive dinner. Will make up for it the
25th.
