I am not a big time runner and often have to overcome my mental blocks just to run as little as I do. I am trying to get back into my routine of running and wanted to create the ultimate running play list.
I was wondering (and hoping) some of you might have some suggestions as to what to add to my list. If so, please share!

I Believe in a Thing Called Love- by THe Darkness
Best running song ever!
Love that you're running... isn't it wonderful? I am trying to get back into it, too.
You should talk to Trent. He has running playlists that he likes. I need to talk to him too.
I am by no means a rap listener, but..."Victory" by Dr. Dre always picks up my step a notch.
I couldn't agree with you more. I went for a run this morning and was thinking the same thing - and almost did this same post myself. Here are some of my very favorite "beat" songs when I run. They're probably old news to you, but I just went through my iPod and jotted down the ones i like best. (Sorry if you're not much into hip-hop - that's what lots of them are). I'd love to hear yours, too.
Love Lockdown - Kanye
Shut Up and Let Me Go- The Ting Tings
Paralyzer - Finger Eleven
Mercy- Duffy
Losing Grip - Avril Lavigne
Stronger - Kanye
Pump It - Black Eyed Peas
Lose Yourself - Eminem
Self Esteem - Offspring
Hallelujah - Paramore
Lollipop - Mika
American Boy - Estelle
Temperature - Sean Paul
Theme from Bourne series
Anything by Lady Gaga is really upbeat and would be good for running!
"Maybe I do maybe I don't... got a problem!?"
Jill,
Great question and it was fun to read everybody elses playlists and ideas. I am all about music when working out. I don't have my music with me at the moment but lately I've totally been diggin kelly Clarkson's new CD (don't judge me) and All American Rejects new one, it's great. I'll let ya know some others if I think of them.
Oh I love this post! I have some. They may be weird, but it's what I enjoy running to...
-Where's your head at by Basement Jaxx
-Calabria by Enur Ft. Natasja
-Around the World by Daft Punk
-Silence by Delerium Ft. Sarah Mclauchlin (the remix version)
-15 Step by Radiohead
-Little L by Jamiroquai
-Could you be loved by Bob Marley
-Breathe by Telepopmusik
Just to name a few. I have many more so let me know if your interested in them. I agree that running to good beats makes it so much better.
I guess one might think I am replying for an 8th grader, but I love, love, love Britany Spears Womanizer. Really it doesn't get much better.
Um, I don't work out.
Jill my friend, what a great post. I'm constantly looking to update and change my work out mixes. It all depends on the mood for me. Sometimes I can work out with some slower music, but I'd have to say for the most part it's the rap and rock that keep me going. It also helps if the songs take my mind off what I'm doing. Maybe think about something else and then the next thing I know I'm almost home again! Anyway, here are a few that I came up with:
Sweet Honey - Slightly Stoopid
La La - Ashley Simpson
Boom Boom Pow - Black Eyed Peas
Must Have Done Something Right - Relient K
Come Clean - Hilary Duff
I Don't Feel Like Dancin' - Scissor Sisters
Let It Rock - Kevin Rudolf
Three Little Birds - Bob Marley
Right Round - Flo Rida
Good Vibrations - Marky Mark
Mama Said Knock You Out - LL Cool J
The First Single - The Format
More Bounce In California - Soulkid #1
So What - Pink
Let U Go - Ashley Parker Angel
I also like lots of things from Secondhand Serenade, T.I., Justin Timberlake, Jason Mraz, Metallica, NSync, DMX, some Jesse McCartney and other Relient K songs.
