Love is in the Air

Due to the pending holiday (and my serious need of renewed hope that relationship actually do work out) I wanted to request your stories. I am always so intrigued with the story of how people met or got engaged that I thought I would ask all of you to share with me. I know that people read my blog that don't always comment, but if you want to share I would LOVE to hear. Just leave a comment with how you met your significant other or how you got engaged (if that applies).

I think that Valentine's Day is a bittersweet holiday, but being the hopeless romantic that I am, I would love to hear every one's love stories.

(you can really share any memory that you want, I would love to hear anything!)

You really want to hear stories like this?

I think my favorite things are the little things Trent does for me. For example, when we were dating I would come home from work and there would be a 6 pack of Cream of Weber Chugs waiting for me. I know, chocolate milk romantic? I think it IS romantic when they know all your favorite things and then they make sure you get to enjoy those things often.

Other than the everyday things the best EVER is getting sealed in the Temple. I still remember the feeling. Nothing is more Romantic than knowing you will be with your Love for all Eternity. And being the hopeless romantic that you are, I cannot wait for you to experience this.

I hope you have a great Valentines weekend in SG! I think it is a perfect weekend to go down and PARTAY!!!

Well I (Lulu) met Ling Lau at a swap meet in Califorina. Now normally I wouldn't be at the particualar swap meet but due to rainy condition in Hawaii, I decided why not. I was just working my booth giving everyone "special price" but of course telling them "tell NO one ok?!" I was just about ready to call it a day when in walks Ling to see if I could break a $100 for him. I had never seen such a beatiful man of race. The rest is history. We spent our days togther working the swap meet circut, painting finger nails, running off donuts, and so forth. Then the magical day came. Ling Lau proposed. He took me to a really classy swap meet in Flordia, and told me I could pick any ring I wanted that was less then $20. It was truly magical! I found the perfect ring, and we got a specail price, but I was told to tell no one. So you'll probably never know what I spent, I digress! Due to the importance of swap meets in our relationship we got married at the same California swap meet we met at. Now Ling Lau and Lulu live happily together making good choices, giving speical price, working swap meets, and livin the dream! The end! :)

I am pretty sure I have told you this already, but I enjoy telling my story anyways!

Ryan and I met on a blind date. We were set up by our friends! Yet they do work. In fact both my sisters and myself married people we were set up on blind dates with!

Anyways, one Friday night Ryan and I were planning on going and getting me on his cell phone plan because my contract was up. We went to the cell phone store, but there were closed. So since it was too early to eat dinner Ryan decided that we should go to our favorite park and hang out. He had brought along his cell phone bills in a folder and said that we could look at them for fun (I know it sounds weird, but I didn't think anything of it at the time). So we sat down on a picinic table and I pulled over the folder to look at it. When I opened it up it wasn't his cell phone bills it was a book he made called "Mindi finds a friend". It had a picture of me on the front. Ryan proceeded to tell me he had a suprise. So I started to read it. He had copied pictures from books and it was a story (kind of) about me. Anyways to make a long story short the last page of my book was Ryan telling me how much he loved me and that he wanted to marry me. When I looked up he was on one knee with a ring.

The book is acutally really funny and sweet. So there you have it. Isn't it romantic? Well I think so!

I'm with "Teddy and Scotty". I want to know what happened.

But Josh and I met at work when we were 16. We started dating shortly after and then never really stopped. (With the exception of the mission). Then he got home and asked me for about the millionth time in our relationship if I would marry him. I said yes and that was that.

OH MY GOSH! Lulu's comment is so freaking funny! I can just picture her saying it too!

One of my favorite memories is when Mike and I got engaged. Actually, the day after. We got engaged on a Friday night, and it was all absolutely magical. After dinner, we were driving to Mom and Dad's house in our limo. Mike pulled out a list he made of all the reasons he loved me. He read it to me as we drove.

Here is my very favorite, I remember so well, waking up Saturday morning after we got engaged. Right when I woke up all the memories from the night before came flooding back and I remember thinking, "It wasn't a dream! I'm really going to marry the love of my life". I remember being to overwhelmingly happy.

I think we already talked about this a while back, but there is a new twist to the story. I asked Jess to marry me by making a book called "151 reasons why I love you". I wrote down a reason on each page and sometimes included pictures or old ticket stubs, etc. I was planning on doing this a couple days later when we were at her parents house so I could talk to her dad in person, but there were reasons it couldn't wait so I had to call him on the phone real quick. Afterwards, I took her up to the east bench of Logan and found an overlook (which had been scouted out earlier in the week). It was dark and the massive city of Logan was all lit up. We got out and walked to the front of the car and I gave her the book. We stood there as she looked threw it and when she got to the end the #1 reason I loved her was 'For accepting these flowers filled with my love'. I then handed her a tulip I had been hiding behind my back. She looked inside and it was filled with littel x's and o's. Then I gave her another. And another. Then next one had a green plastic ring in it because we always joked that I was too poor to get her a real ring when the time ever came to propose. She had a good laugh and I gave her the last flower which was a red rose. She was a little surprised and confused and tried to look inside it to see if there was something in it also and while she was doing that I slipped her engagement rind off my pinky (which was frozen and I couldn't feel the ring at first and thought I had dropped it on the ground) and got down on one knee and asked her. She luckily said yes and that's where it all began.

Now for the rest of the story: Last night it was 10 years since I asked her to marry me. I come home to find a nicely set table with lots of candles and an amazing meal being prepared. The kids were SOOO excited about it all and Jess made us a perfect steak dinner. Then we played with the kids, put them to bed and then she gave me a very unexpected present. A book. "151 reasons why I love you" that covered the last 10 years. :)
