So as many of you may know that the kids at my place have been sick with the Stomach Flu, no fun. I haven't been around all that much and thought I would be immune to this awful sickness, no such luck.
Friday at work we ordered Cafe Rio for lunch and it was so good as usual, but the inevitable happened later that night. I decided to work out after work and boy was that a bad idea. It started out with just a sick stomach, which isn't uncommon in our family of sensitive stomachs. My workout was cut short and I spent some quality time in the bathroom.
I got things under control enough that I headed to Wal-mart to kill some time until Steve was off work. I made sure to stay close to the bathroom, got some diarrhea medicine, and thought I was good to go. I still just thought it was from the work out after such a big meal, again, boy was I wrong!
I met up with Steve and we went to his house to have a mellow night since I wasn't feeling great. We played Magic The Gathering, an oh-so geeky card game (think Pokemon meets World of War Craft), and I just kept getting more and more sick. I am usually not one who throws up, I think I have done so maybe 6 times in my life, I have a pretty strong stomach. As I was laying there I knew I was going to add another one to my count. I again spent some quality time in the bathroom, and felt really bad that Steve had to be there for all of it.
This is where the death of Cafe Rio comes in. I am sure many of you have had that experience that whatever you eat when you get sick gets ruined for life? Well I know this is one of them. After the initial throw up, and seeing all that food come up I had gotten home and spent the night in the shower and on the bathroom floor. I finally fell asleep only to wake up an hour later and only made it to a towel. WARNING GRAPHIC: Once I got the towel to the bathroom to clean up the towel looked like the bottom of a Cafe Rio Salad, you know when the rice melts in with the cheese and such? Gross I know and probably why I will never be able to stomach anything else from Cafe Rio.
I've made it through the night and had to come in to work and I am hoping I am on the rebound. I haven't put anything new down and hope that this is only a 24-hour bug. I am sad to say that one of my most favorite eating establishments is not ruined! Cafe Rio has been a staple in my life for a long time and I am sad that that is what I got sick on. How rude!

Sorry the pukes have been transferred to you. It has been a horrible week and looks like it will be a great weekend for you! Like I said before, you are welcome to some Pedialyte pops or saltines. We have a ton!
I got sick on cafe rio once too. It was so dissapointing because I'm the same way and can't eat somthing I've barfed. But, it only took me about 6 months before I was able to eat it again, and now I'm back in the habit. Hopefully the same thing will happen for you. It would be a shame to miss out on Cafe Rio.
That was gross! I'm sorry you got sick Jill! Hopefully you're feeling better now. Love ya lots!
Gross!! The play by play was more than one needs. Sorry you are living with all those germs. Keep them to yourself. I don't know if I could do sick kids.
Sorry about CafeRios reputation, but that's one way to loose weight!
I did not just read that.....
