Random Night of Events

Last night turned into a random night of events. Steve met me at work so make sure we could make it to Ensign Peak for sunset (he was a little jealous I do romantic things with Shannon more than him). He was so cute and came so prepared, he made peanut butter and honey sandwiches (my favorite) to have at the top, brought me a diet coke, and even a nice gift of a tripod for my camera. So nice of him! We got to test it out, and the picture turned out perfect...

We got to the top and it got REALLY windy and cold. Hiking in the fall, in the evening provides for some cold weather elements. We were both really prepared with our flip-flops, but at least we had jackets...
The sunset was really pretty despite the cold, but we didn't stay up there much longer after it set...
Next on the docket was a spur of the moment decision to test out Gravity Hill. We looked up the "directions" online and gave it a go, and tried again, and again, and again. I think Steve's physics mind set in and was determined to figure out where and how it works. So much so that we stopped and got out and tested it out with a lacrosse ball. I am still not convinced that it works.

Once that was settled, we went up to the institute to check out the new air hockey table. Playing games is one of my favorite things to do with Steve. I usually always lose but it is still entertaining.

Steve's game face, I think it worked, he won 4 of the 5 games...

My attempt at a game face, Steve said I just look constipated, I think he might be right (this is an awful picture)...
We played ping-pong after and I did actually win! It was a close game, but I came out on top!

We decided to head to Bountiful and had another impromptu activity of stopping at K-Mart for the photo booth. Steve has NEVER done this and has wanted to and I thought it was the perfect opportunity. It was so fun! While we were waiting for our pictures to develop, some lady stopped and gave us the wise advice that we can't use these for our wedding announcements. I thought it was pretty funny, unsolicited advice.
We finished the night off with Steve being nice enough to go with me to meet Shannon's family who is in town from Alaska. It was fun to finally meet her family that she has talked so much about! Jake came into town from St. Louis last night as well, you would have thought it was Christmas at our house. The kids were so excited for him to come.

Due to my trip to California (that I leave for TODAY) I will both miss out on Jake being in town, and all the events planned for that, as well as a week without Steve. I thought our night turned out pretty good for planning as we go, but I usually just have fun with him no matter what anyways.

Thanks again for stopping by last night! I loved that you got to meet my family... even though we were all pretty exhausted from the long day. And I'm glad you got to do all of those fun things with Steve! You two are looking great together - so happy. I love it.

I'll send you an email shortly - but have fun on your California trip!!! You'll be missed!
