Slumber Party

After an evening of reading and finishing my book, I went upstairs and found that Aiden was the only kid still awake. I sat down on the couch with him and he said "Me sleep Jill's bed." I said it was ok as long as he asked Mom or Dad. He quickly ran and asked and we were on for the little slumber party!

We went and got his blankets and were heading down stairs. I haven't seen Aiden so excited in a long time, as he was running all over. I told him to go tell mom and dad good night. He went and said good night to mom and then went and found dad. Instead of saying good night he said "Sanks Dad." As we got to the bottom of the stairs he whispers "Mom and dad are so nice." I thought it was so cute, I guess he wasn't used to these little things out of the norm, or mom and dad letting him do something not in the schedule.

We got settled in bed and I just had to capture the moment so I got out my camera and took a picture of Aiden. He looked at the picture and said "That's not a good one." I thought it was cute, but I guess he is pretty picky when it comes to pictures of himself. How would it be to be a kid and think like that? He was ok with this one:

As with any excited kid, it took him a while to settle down, but he snuggled close to me and fell asleep. I had to enjoy the moment of snuggling before I fell asleep as well.

I am so lucky to be living with all these cute kids! Today Andrew fell asleep with me for his nap. I just don't think it gets much better than getting to be around all these kids and enjoying each and every one of them! Hopefully I can pull my weight around here enough that Trent and Amy don't kick me out.
