Happy Birthday Trent!

Today is Trent's birthday, he said it is the less important birthday in May, but I think it is just as important.

I have the great pleasure of living with Trent and his cute family. It really is one of the biggest blessing in my life and I am amazed all the time and how lucky I am. There are many reasons for this, but I think one of my favorite things about living there is the relationship I have built with Trent. Being 9 years apart doesn't allow for an overly close relationship, but over the past two years I have come to consider Trent one of my best friends.

I was so worried when I first started living there of how things would go, and if Trent could handle me being there. But I have really come to appreciate his honesty and realize what a great trait that is. I never have to wonder if there is something that Trent would rather me not do, because he will tell me, and I really like that. I would much rather know than keep bugging him. I think this is one of the main reasons we have become friends, and one of the things I want to learn from him.

Trent's honesty is just one of the great things about him. I am always so surprised when he actually cares what I have to say, or about my opinion, or what is going on in my life. Usually I just keep things to myself, but Trent is usually aware of things that may be going on, or when he finds out, he is supportive.

Trent is so fun to be around, whether it's watching a movie, sitting around and talking (especially if it is his ranting and ravings of his opinions, or his analysis of movies, or his plans for his house, I love how passionate he gets about things), going places with his family, or just hanging out.

I am so glad that Trent has invited me into his family and allowed me to be his sixth child, but mostly I am glad for the friendship we have.

Thanks for being my friend and sometimes my dad. I hope you have a great birthday!!!

Oh Jill. You are so sweet! Love this post because, well, I love Trent! We are both glad you live with us! Thanks in advance for watching the hoard while we go to dinner tonight!

Wow! I don't think I deserve quite a tribute, but thank you! I'm surprised that you think I'm fun because it seems like all I do around our house is rip on people and tell you what not to do. I too am greatful you live with us. You bring an optimistic light into a very cynical home. I know our kids are lucky to have someone who actually plays with them and Amy is lucky there is someone who can appreciate a good find at Ross.

Is this really Trent commenting on blogs!? This is not the brother that I know, but it's so fun to see his other side! I think it's safe to say that our family would be very imcomplete without Trent! Maybe I'm a bad sister for not having an "Ode to Trent" post. Hopefuly he reads what I have to say on everyone elses! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRENT!
