Drum roll please.....
Our kitchen is finally done!!!
(well almost, we still need to do our back splash, but my "home projects motivation" has escaped me and I need a break)
But to show you just how far we have come, let me illustrate with pictures.
We started with this:
I am terrible at taking before pictures so don't mind the poor quality - it was just a random picture I have of my kitchen from a long time ago |
Then capped it off with new hardware, a new sink and faucet, and new countertops - quite the dramatic change, wouldn't you say?
We love it. We also love that Cam and I did all of this ourselves (but must mention the much needed help and tools from Trent along the way - seriously, what would we do without him?). It's so nice to see the fruit of our labor and be in love with the outcome. It's everything I dreamed it would be and more. It brightens our whole house and makes our tiny kitchen feel just a bit bigger.
I must admit that the crown jewel of the whole project is the sink, just look at this beauty:
I have wanted a farm house/apron sink for so long and we made that happen - it ended up working out perfectly and again with a little help, from Cameron's super nice friend who happens to be a plumber, we got running water on Saturday and I don't think I could have been any happier.
It's been a lot of work and a long road to get here, but I would say it was worth every drop of blood, sweat, and tears (trust me, there were some of those).
Now I can just dream of getting our white subway tile back splash in and hope that I find the motivation to do that (come to think of it - anyone know how to tile that we can just pay you to do it? that may be the better option...).
Thanks for letting me share, after being without a working kitchen (aka no sink/running water/dishwasher) I am so grateful for our kitchen.

Love it! So stinkin cute. I love the farm sink as well. Good job!
after you add that back splash you might just be the owner of my dream kitchen. SO JEALOUS!
It seriously is a beautiful kitchen, Jill! I just love your home. And I love you too. Thank you for our little visit last night and the beautiful notebook (I adore it - seriously!) and our friendship. LOVE YOU!
I love it ! That sink will be perfect to bathe a baby in. I can help with the subway tiles if you want. I'd be happy to. I learned a lot from tiling the shower and I have some tools.
Wowzers! I'm so impressed. I love it!
