Gratitude: Baby Makes Three

ANNOUNCEMENT: We are having a baby!

(exciting and scary all at the same time, right?)

Now that that is out there I can expound upon the many things I feel grateful for in this regard.

First and foremost: the miracle of life. The whole process of having a baby just amazes me the more I read and learn about it. Even more amazing, the Heavenly Father who created us and shared with us this sacred blessing of being able to create life. I am in awe at the divine nature of growing a baby and hope to only grow closer to my Heavenly Father through this process.

Second: a healthy body that allows me to bear children. My heart just aches for those that struggle with this, I pray for them in their trials and am humbled by the blessing it is that this is happening for me. I have felt surprisingly great through the first trimester and I am extremely grateful for that. There was maybe only 2 days in the last 12 weeks that I thought I just might die, but I will count those two as a blessed reminder of how great every other day was.

Third: Cameron and the companion that he is. My heart just swells with the love I have for him and the happiness of getting to start our family with him. Our kids are going to be so blessed with a kind and wonderful dad. They will have a great example of many of the great attributes I hope they learn from their dad. I know my love for him will only grow throughout this process, but even up to this point, I never knew how deeply I could love him.

Last (although there is an abundant list of things I am grateful for): the excitement and joy that surrounds this little baby. Cameron and I are thrilled to say the least and it has meant so much to us to share the news and to receive the support and excitement from those we love.

I'm still waiting for it to really set in that I am in fact growing a baby, but I am so grateful to be going through this experience and looking forward to a sweet baby joining our family.
