Day Three: Mid-Town

Thursday was yet another day our morning did not go quite as planned - we wanted to hit up the today show, but after a little sleeping in and then realizing that there was a concert on the plaza - we delayed our morning just a bit.

We got on our way and headed to Rockefeller Center.
We wandered around Studio 1A (I was a little sad we missed Matt, Meredeth, and Al), grabbed some breakfast at Au-Bon-Pain, and headed up to Top of the Rock (comparable to the top of the Empire State Building but way better). It was super windy, but so beautiful and great views of the city (top to bottom).

After our time up top, we wandered around the plaza, shopped 5th avenue (the actually affordable places like H&M and then dreamed through places like Tiffany's), walked up through the Plaza, FAO Schwartz, and the Mac Store.

Once our 5th Ave experience was complete, we jumped on the Subway for some more shopping on 34th street. Before hitting the stores, we refueled at Waldy's (a delicious unique pizza joint with delicious pizza and pasta). We hit the shopping circuit again by introducing Cameron to the world's largest store - Macy's. Just exploring that place is tiring! We stopped at H&M again, as well as seeing some of the sights in the area (Madison Square Garden, Empire State Building, and such).

As if we hadn't seen and walked enough we decided to walk pack to our hotel opposed to a subway - we got back to the hotel with aching feet, our nap was well needed.

Ready for our evening out we headed to Grand Central Station - that place just amazes me. One of my favorite things about this trip was seeing Cam experience all of these places for the first time - this was a good one too.

We saw some of the rest of the sights (the Chrysler Building and surrounding areas) and then ventured up Park Ave to use my favorite bathroom's in all of New York - in case you are wondering they are in the lobby of the Waldorf Astoria. They are just amazing.

As if we weren't shopped out earlier, we headed back to the 34th street area and hit up Daffy's - a store I thought I could for sure have success in, but my shopping savvy husband beat me by walking out with a bag full of merchandise and I came out empty handed (story of my life on this trip).

We then headed back to Times Square - our favorite night spot. Cameron grabbed some dinner at Ray's pizza and I substituted my dinner with Cold Stone - I love when I can justify ice cream for dinner.
Given all the walking we had done all day, my feet were ready to fall off so we headed back to the hotel to rest for the night. Luckily we didn't miss the NBA Finals game - that would have been a tragedy.
