It was that time of year again - the time of year to celebrate!
It's no surprise that I love my birthday, this year was no exception but I was told that I am married now that I should be mature enough not to need a week long celebration. I took some of this council to heart, but still felt the need to celebrate.
Also as no surprise, I have an awesome husband. Friday at work, Cam surprised me and picked me up to go to lunch (we work about 45 minutes apart so this is no small feat when it happens). I walked out and there he was, waiting for me. I was one happy girl. We headed to my favorite lunch spot, Zupa's, where he surprised me yet again by telling me he had arranged for me to have the rest of the day off. He had tickets to a movie and everything - perfect way to end my work week and start my birthday weekend.
Have I mentioned I love him? |
The rest of the weekend was pretty low key - which is new for this birthday girl - but it was perfect.
We ordered pizza, watched the royal wedding, shopped for house things, and basically got to spend every second together. There were also kind gestures sprinkled in all weekend from secret notes on my computer, breakfast in bed, fountain Diet Cokes, and trips to the store for me.
The weekend was topped off with a party at my parents house. We usually only gather on the 3rd Sunday of the month, but my mom was nice enough to throw me a little party.
I even got the very ice cream cake I have wanted - mint chocolate chip ice cream with chocolate cake - that Cameron sure knows how to pull some strings for me.
As I've said about a million times, my family are truly my best friends. I can't think of anyone I would rather spend my day with. They all showered me with love with kind words and just showing up. The kids were also rather excited it was my birthday and wished me a happy birthday about every 5 minutes - I love them.
The house was abuzz all afternoon with the sounds of the family and I loved it. There is nothing quite like a Jensen gathering.
I guess I really am maturing that this low key birthdays was one of my favorites. It also helps that I have a loving husband that seeks to make every detail perfect - being married is the best way to spend a birthday.
Thanks to all who celebrated with me, wished me Happy Birthday, sent me cards, etc. I'm so lucky to have such amazing people in my life.
Here's to life at age 25!

Hooray for sweet, thoughtful husbands! You deserve every kind deed. Happy (belated) Birthday!
You are BEAUTIFUL! I can't believe how photogenic you are. Loved your gray shirt on Sunday too. Glad you had a great Birthday weekend!
And I am very mad you forgot about Bertha...;)
I was about to say that same thing Amy said. You are stunning in every one of these pics. You really so photogenic, but that's no new news.
Thanks again for all you did for us over your birthday weekend. It meant a lot.
Love you!
Jill! Happy Birthday! I know I'm late (I should have just called you when I thought about you on Sunday!), but I hope you know how truly incredible you are. I loved your post before this one with your reflections on turning 25. It's amazing to realize how much has happened in the first 25 years of our lives... it can only mean that the next 25 years have bigger and better things in store. You are looking so good and genuinely happy. Love that. Love you!
