What Happens in Vegas...

... is a much needed girl weekend.

Ashlee and I decided to make a point to go and visit Stacie and her new home in Vegas. It just so happens that Vegas is warm, just a drive away, and contains some pretty awesome people.

Ash and I headed down Friday and arrived around 5:00 (after a long, but informative 6 hour drive). Our hosts welcomed us with open arms and were so nice to have us.

We headed out to dinner at Olive Garden and enjoyed some of the best OG food we've ever had. Delish! The dinner was filled with catching up, getting to know each other better, and some confessions...

We capped off the night with girl talk on the couch for hours. Nothing better on a girls trip, right?

Stacie continued to be an excellent hostess and treated us to crepes for breakfast. I opted for the simple butter and sugar, but Stacie on the other hand knows how to dress a crepe: strawberries, ice cream, cool whip, and some syrup. Can't you just see the enjoyment?
 Next up: the pool.

Which wouldn't be complete without a trip to the gas station for some DC and Coke.

The majority of the day was spent like this: soaking up the sun.

And who couldn't help but love the pure joy of new love? This girl was smitten every time she got to talk to her boy (let's be honest, missing the boys at home is the one downside to a girls trip).

With sunburned skin and the heat setting in we spent the afternoon recouping from our exerting afternoon. We parked ourselves on the couch and settled in to watch the worst movie (probably the worst I have ever seen) "According to Greta" - not Hilary Duff's finest performance (not that we were even expecting much to begin with).

Once Matt got home from work we headed out for dinner. We went to some Mexican restaurant and enjoyed the sweeping view's of Vegas (if the frame was a little more to the left you could see the whole strip behind us). Stacie got a Spanish lesson from our waiter and Matt was informed where to find the women on a hot day (which in case you were wondering is at the pool at the Venetian).

The evening again was ended with hours of chit-chat on the couch. Matt was such a good sport to have us around and even joined us for meals and our chats.

We decided to get on our way Sunday morning - we had boys to get home to. The drive seemed to be one of the longest I have ever experienced (which I guess is what happens when you are excited to get home to someone).

The whole weekend was so fun and I am so lucky to have such good friends.

Fun to see your week-end even though the trip home was hard;
hard to leave someone at home!
