Today we celebrated Easter with the Clark's. Everyone was in town and it was the perfect day to celebrate.
The day started with lunch and an egg hunt (not so exciting this year since we are the only one's sans kids).
But the big event planned for the day was Chuck E. Cheese (yes, that incredibly awesome arcade we all know and love from our childhood).
You see, for Christmas Lynette had given us all $20 gift cards that we could all go use together. I carefully put this gift in the book she gave us for Christmas so I would know right where it was. But what do you think happened? Yep, I went to get it and it was gone. Cam and I basically turned the house upside down looking for it for two days (which actually was the jump start to our intensive spring cleaning - seriously, our house is a disaster right now) all to no avail. I felt awful. Who just loses a gift like that? Apparently me.
Either way, we still went and we were still furnished with far too many tokens.
Little did I know that I actually married the master at earning tickets. You know those boys you always envied because they had about a million tickets coming out of one game and piling up on the floor? Well that is my husband. He knows all the tricks and loves the satisfaction of getting all those tickets.
Me on the other hand, I like more the skee-ball games. I play for fun and if I get a few tickets great. But I did love being "the one's" at the ticket machine with the major cash-in of tickets (I guess it was just fulfilling a childhood fantasy).
My all time favorite at C E. C activity is for sure the sketch machine. I could sit there the whole time and take picture after picture. We limited it to 3 today as it is widely popular - but I love it every time.
Isn't my husband handsome? I just love him. |
We finished out the day with some backyard volleyball (which got highly competitive amongst the group - and wasn't without a few people getting hit in the head) and a trip to the mall for some food court grub (options are a must with a large group).
Sadly I don't have any picture to document the day (aside from our fancy sketch's from Chuck himself). I guess you will just have to take my word for how fun it was.
